Liyang is located in the south of Changzhou city, Jiangsu province, is a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Changzhou which is a tourist city.

Liyang boasts of natual beauty and with a history of more than 2000 years. The weather in this area is mild and humid, for it influenced by a maritime monsoon climate, the four seasons are distinctive and the annual average temperature is 15-16ºC, the average rain precipitation is 1,160 mm. Liyang with an area of 1,535 square kilometers and has a population of about 780,000.

The municipal government took action to renovate the sewage disposal systems of hotels and other residential buildings around the lake. There steps were highly successful and the lake’s water quality has improved remarkably. Now the water can be used for drinking or making tea. Liyang Tea festival attracts thousands of visitors each year. The abundant freshwater is the key resources for its agricultural sector and tourism. Numerous bodies of water are crisscross around the area, including five lakes and lots of river.
