Longnan City is situated in the southeast of Gansu Province, neighboring Shaanxi Province in the east and Sichuan Province in the south. Within Gansu, Longnan borders Tianshui in the north and Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture in the west.
Mountains, valleys, hills, basins can all be seen in this area of Longnan. Climate here is vertically distributed and the differences of climate in different places are also very distinctive. The natural sceneries here are of the grace of South China and the magnificence of North China. Long long ago, in the remote ancient times of New Stone Age, people had lived in Longnan. For example, the remote Chinese humane ancestor Fuxi was born in the Qiuchi Mountain of Xihe County, Longnan. Tourist resources of Longnan are quite rich.
