Xingyang Overview
Xingyang City is located at about 15 kilometers northwest of Zhengzhou. With a total area of 908 square kilometers and a population of 620,000, it has jurisdiction over 3 countries, 9 towns, 2 sub district offices, 1 scenic area administration committee and 282 villages. Xingyang is the native place of Chinese Chess and the natural chessboard boundary is at the north of the city; it is the native place of Zheng people, 12 million descendants of Zheng people are active in fields of politics and business around the world; it has advantages in manufacture of valves and construction machines. Xingyang moved continually up in the ranking of national county economy basic competitiveness and became one of Top 100 China’s Most Potential Middle and Small Cities in 2005. In 2006, the fiscal revenue reached 740 million, up by 27.59% over the previous year.
