Pulandian Overview
Pulandian is one of the "three northern cities" of Greater Dalian, Liaoning Province, the other two being Wafangdian and Zhuanghe.
Pulandian is located in the northern part of Dalian on the Liaodong Peninsula. It covers an area of 6968 square kilometers. It borders Zhuanghe to the east, Wafangdian to the west, Jinzhou District to the south and Greater Yingkou to the north. Its area is 2923 square kilometres.
Pulandian has a long coast line on the Yellow Sea in its southeastern part and a short coastline on the Bohai Sea in its southwestern part.
Pulandian's industries are agriculture, fishing and the three main manufacturing industries: fabrics, electric machinery and food.
Situated on the mid-southern part of the Liaodong peninsula, Pulandian is a county-level city directly under Dalian Municipality with a distance of 50 kilometres away from Dalian’s downtown. Pulandian has a modern agricultural sector as one of its key industries and enjoys rapid growth of its animal husbandry and crop production with a spill-over effect on other businesses like fishery, vegetable and fruit production.
