Administrative divisions of Yunnan
Yunnan is located in the far southwestern corner of China, which has an area of 168,400 sq mi (436,200 sq km). The capital of the province is Kunming.
Administrative divisions
Yunnan is divided into sixteen prefecture-level divisions, of which there are eight prefecture-level cities and eight autonomous prefectures.
The prefecture-level cities:
•Kunming
•Qujing
•Yuxi
•Baoshan
•Zhaotong
•Lijiang
•Pu’er
•Lincang
The autonomous prefectures:
•Dehong Dai and Jingpo Autonomous Prefecture
•Nujiang Lisu Autonomous Prefecture
•Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture
•Dali Bai Autonomous Prefecture
•Chuxiong Yi Autonomous Prefecture
•Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture
•Wenshan Zhuang and Miao Autonomous Prefecture
•Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture
The eight prefecture-level divisions and eight autonomous prefectures are subdivided into 129 county-level divisions (12 districts,9 county-level cities, 79 counties and 29 autonomous counties) .Those are in turn divided into 1455 township-level divisions (567 towns, , 677 townships, 155 ethnic townships, and 56 subdistricts ).
