Overview
Anshun, located in the middle of Guizhou Province and the eastern part of Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau of China, is a city of great importance in the transport between the two provinces and has a strategic geographic significance as the "threshold to Yunnan and the hinterlands of Guizhou". With a total population of 2,523,000, Anshun has an area of 9,264 sq. km and an altitude of 1,300 meters. The city administrates Xixiu District, Puding County, Pingba County, Zhenning Buyi and Miao Autonomous County, Ziyun County, and Guanling Buyi and Miao Autonomous County.
Anshun is known as a tourist city. The main attractions include Huangguoshu Waterfalls, the Dragon Palace and the Confucian Temple (also named Wen Temple, in which a wax painting museum is situated), and so on.
