Fangshan District Overview
Fangshan District covers a total of 1,866.7 square kilometers and is divided into 3 towns,29 townships and one neighborhood committee with a population of 760,000 This district, which is 60% mountainous area with many rivers, is 45 kilometers from the city center. Famous for places of historic interests,the district is also rich for its natural resources and indigenous products like snow-white marble,chestnuts,persimmons,Beijing white pears,and hongxiao pears. It is also a region of some large scale enterprises.
